A Day in the Life

There's always something special going on at NCMIC. We work hard to help the doctors we support do more, but we also know how important it is to take the time to celebrate accomplishments, say thank you to each other, support non-profits, and catch up with co-workers at a social gathering or two.

From recurring events like monthly breakfasts and Pizza Fridays, to surprise complimentary coffee bars and massage chair days, there's always something wonderful happening within our walls — and outside of them. Even while many of us worked from home due to COVID-19, we still enjoyed virtual coffee chats, donut deliveries, Food Bank drives and more.

Take a look at a few of the things you'll find going on at NCMIC.

Period Packing Party

Supporting non-profits like Give Grace, Give Hope is important to our employees. You'll find us pitching in at events like this Period Packing Party to help those who experience period poverty.

Give Grace, Give Hope was founded by one of our employees and her daughter after learning about the struggles women encounter when they lack essential menstrual products.

Their goal is to eliminate the gap between need and access of menstrual products. They do this by providing supplies to schools, homeless shelters, women's resource centers and other human service organizations.

Celebrating accomplishments is more fun when you do it with your co-workers.

Our monthly employee meetings give us a chance to celebrate work anniversaries, professional development and continuing education achievements.

But wait - there's more! It's not a celebration without food. It's an enticing way to start the day.

coffee bar

What a treat! A coffee bar set up to get us caffeinated for the day.

Thanks to our social committee for always planning something fun. In fact, they're planning something for each month.

They might schedule a Beer Friday (before we had to social distance) or a tailgate lunch for the Iowa vs ISU football game.

There's always something fun on the calendar!

Meals from the Heartland

It may seem like a friendly competition, but some departments take it seriously when we're packaging Meals from the Heartland.

Employees can sign up for a two-hour shift to help sift, sort, seal and pack these essential meals that are shipped to locations in need.

It's fun to earn bragging rights for packing the most meals with your co-workers. And it's even more fun when you find out there are giveaways like gift cards for those participating.

It's a win-win.
