“NCMIC has awarded 100 scholarships in 2020 to help with the costs of taking the board exams,” said Dr. Wayne Wolfson, President of NCMIC. “Quarter two was unique with the pandemic and boards being postponed, but we still had over 1,400 entrants. To us, providing these scholarships is more important than ever. We know COVID has caused a lot of financial uncertainty for many students and their families, so we hope students continue to take advantage of the program this year.”
NCMIC, in conjunction with the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners, launched the Bucks for Boards program in January. A total of 200 scholarships totaling $100,000 each in the amount of $500 each, will be given by NCMIC in 2020.
Four times during the year, 50 students will be awarded Bucks for Boards scholarships. The names of the winners will be randomly drawn from those who enter each entry period. Students may sign up once per entry period, and are eligible to win one NCMIC Bucks for Boards scholarship annually. Winners will be notified by email and/or phone.
These scholarships are just one of many ways NCMIC reaches out to students. The NCMIC Starting Into Practice® Program has held on-campus presentations for over 20 years to help prepare students for the transition from school into practice. A website, www.startingintopractice.com, and supporting Facebook group was launched to give students access to in-depth information about business, marketing, practice structures, finances and more.
