It's important to consider how long the company has offered chiropractic malpractice insurance. Some malpractice insurance providers tout their experience, but chiropractic is simply a sideline. They may even have "medical" as part of their name, raising the question of whether chiropractic is really their priority. Others are simply brokers and how chiropractors are treated is at the discretion of the company that actually provides the coverage.
Financial Stability
It’s critical that the insurance company you choose has the resources to provide you with expert legal counsel throughout litigation. A good way to check on this is to assess a company’s financial position, including their A.M. Best rating for financial stability.
Ask to see a copy of its annual report or annual summary and check on complaints or problems through your state insurance department.

Look for companies that support chiropractic research and education programs, take an active role in state and national professional organizations, support the chiropractic colleges, and are knowledgeable about chiropractic issues facing the profession today and tomorrow.
