With 80,000 children being diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) each year, there is now a virtual “silent tsunami” of individuals with specific medical and chiropractic needs. In her workshop, Dr. Janet Lintala integrates the clinical experience of a biomedical autism practice with the first-hand experience only an autism parent can deliver.
As an autism parent, she understands the complete confusion this diagnosis brings. As a doctor, she sees the holes, contradictions and even nonsense in the treatment approaches families are offered. Helping autism families cut through the confusion and apply effective treatments and therapies has become her passion.
Dr. Lintala cuts through the “autism clutter” and provides a clear and logical plan. Using straightforward language, case studies, and specific strategies and protocols, Dr. Lintala gives clinicians the tools they need to take action and help their patient with ASD in ways that can show immediate results.
Dr. Lintala received a B.S. in Genetics from The Ohio State University. She earned her Doctor of Chiropractic degree from NUHS as salutatorian, summa cum laude, one month before the birth of her first son (among two) on the autism spectrum. She discovered that current medical and chiropractic knowledge did not offer her many tools to help her child at that time. Raising her sons has been a 28-year “residency” in Autism Spectrum Disorder and its related conditions.
Dr. Lintala is the founder of Autism Health, serving patients in 20 states, and does extensive pro bono work at the center. She is the author of The Un-Prescription for Autism, and has mentored with Elizabeth Mumper, M.D., former medical director of the Autism Research Institute.
