Stress of a claim

NCMIC Program Helps Doctors Cope with the Stress of a Claim

At NCMIC, we get it. We want to help doctors who are experiencing undue stress due to a claim by providing access to a confidential resource to cope with the situation.

Dealing with an allegation after you’ve done your best for a patient is emotionally stressful. This stress can manifest itself as:

  • An inability to concentrate
  • An inability to cope with everyday tasks
  • Self-questioning of your overall clinical expertise

Being sued is overwhelming and doesn’t mean you’re not a good doctor. At NCMIC, we want to help you every step of the way. That's why our Claims Assistance Program provides up to six, one-hour counseling sessions with a licensed and/or credentialed professional for doctors who are experiencing the stress of a claim.
