Pays Benefits for your Practice Expenses
If you are the owner or a partner of your practice, you want to keep your practice running
even if you become disabled. This valuable plan will pay you monthly benefits if you’re Totally Disabled and can’t work.
It covers various practice expenses, including:
- rent, electricity, heat, telephone, and water;
- employees’ salaries and payments for group insurance and pension plans;
- monthly pro-rata portion of annual contributions and membership fees and dues;
- accountants’ services;
- mortgage interest and real estate tax payments on business premises owned and used by you for chiropractic;
- mortgage interest and property tax payments on business equipment used in your practice;
- rental of business equipment (except automobiles or motor vehicles); and
- other such expenses necessary to operate your office.
Benefit Period – Up to 2 Years
You can collect benefits from your Business Overhead Expense Plan for up to 2 full years.
Recurrent Disability Benefit
If, during the Elimination Period, you are no longer Totally Disabled and return to work for
30 days or less, your Elimination Period will not be interrupted. So, if you become Totally Disabled again due to
the same condition, you do not have to satisfy another Elimination Period.
Plus, if you become Totally Disabled within 6 months of previously being Totally Disabled,
it will be considered one period of disability; you will not be required to satisfy another Elimination Period
prior to collecting benefits.
Waiver of Premium
If you are Totally Disabled and your Elimination Period has passed, you will not have to
pay the premiums for your coverage. This waiver of premium will continue until benefits are no longer payable.
After the waiver of premium you may continue your Business Overhead Expense Plan as long as you resume paying your
premium and your coverage has not ended.
