Dr. Thomas E. Hyde’s vast experience with sports chiropractic has understandably made him an
expert on this topic. His personable style will provide a relaxed atmosphere for open discussions, including
what can go wrong with the knee and how to treat it. Doctors will leave the program with a complete
understanding and appreciation of the pathophysiology of the athlete.
Dr. Hyde obtained his biology degree from Florida State University and graduated from Logan College of Chiropractic.
He became the chiropractor for several high schools and universities, including being the
chiropractic consultant for the Miami Dolphins from 1990 through 1997. He also attended a two-week sports
medicine internship at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs in 1986 and served as the U.S.
chiropractor to the 1987 Pan American Games in Indianapolis. He completed the second edition of Conservative
Managements of Sports Injuries, published by Jones and Bartlett in 1997 with his co-editor and co-contributor
Marianne Gengenbach, D.C.
Dr. Hyde served as an advisor to the ACA Sports Council was a member of the American
Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians, and served as medical director for the Miami Dade County sports
Commission. In 2009, he was selected as “Person of the Year” by Dynamic Chiropractic.
Dr. Hyde is currently a member of the Advisory Board for the Journal of the Canadian
Chiropractic Association, an advisor to Spine-Health and a past president of the Florida Chiropractic
Association.
He now spends his time lecturing and teaching and has traveled across the U.S. and
internationally, teaching the treatment of athletic and soft tissue injuries.
